LICENSE INFORMATION
Internet Exchange Messaging Server 7 can be configured to have all components run on a single machine, or across multiple machines on a local network. Preprocessor modules, such as the anti-virus processing can be located on an auxiliary machine other than the MTA machine so as to not slow down external messaging processing. Components, such as the Message Store, cc:Mail Connector, Lotus Notes Connector, and the LDAP Server, can reside on their own machines should the message processing load demand the offloading of these functions.

The licensing of Internet Exchange Messaging Server 7 is tied in with the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of each machine (other than the Preprocessor modules) running Internet Exchange Messaging Server 7 components. The FQDN for a given machine is the combination of its Host Name and Domain Name. For instance, the FQDN "mail.ima.com" is made up of the following:

     - mail is the host name or machine name
     - ima.com is the domain name (or the extension for a company or an organization)

Both the host name and domain name must be provided in order to generate the license certificate. Installing Internet Exchange Messaging Server 7 on a single machine requires only one FQDN (MTA Server). Installations for distributed environment requires the FQDN of each of the machines that will run the different Internet Exchange Messaging Server's components.

IMPORTANT:  The license certificate provided by IMA will work only on the system identified in the MTA Server FQDN section below. For more information on how to determine the FQDN for your machine, please see the "How Can I Determine My FQDN?" page.
